What is Holistic Counselling?

Holistic counselling looks at the person as a whole to enable ongoing sessions to provide support without focusing on mental health needs alone.  This method of counselling focus's on a persons overall health, mental, emotional, spiritual, social and physical well-being, not just their illness or condition. 

Holistic counselling understands that each person is individual, coming from different cultural, spiritual, and family backgrounds. It considers that each person in influenced by their age, faith, education, social interactions and sexual or gender identity. 

There is no one who knows you like you know you! I am here to listen to ask questions and to provide practical tools to support you on your journey to becoming your best self.  

Each session will last 90 mins, and will be a mix of traditional talk based therapy as well as practical exercises, and holistic, intuitive healing techniques to enable you to feel heard, to learn skills to help you grow, and to feel settled and grounded before you leave.

What is Holistic Lifestyle Coaching?

Holistic Lifestyle Coaching shares similarities with counseling in that it adopts a comprehensive approach to addressing an individual's well-being. However, coaching distinguishes itself by offering practical skills that can assist you in restoring life balance.

 

Each session spans 90 minutes and involves a thoughtful discussion about what aspects of your life are functioning effectively and what requires improvement. During these sessions, I will actively listen and ask pertinent questions, leading to the collaborative development of a supportive plan to be pursued over either a 6 or 12-week timeframe.

Taking into account the holistic perspective, your personalized plan will encompass strategies aimed at enhancing various facets of your life, including:

  1. Achieving a harmonious work-life balance.

  2. Coping with life transitions and changes.

  3. Setting and pursuing meaningful goals.

  4. Establishing new, positive habits.

  5. Practicing mindfulness and self-awareness.

  6. Prioritizing holistic health.

  7. Receiving support for overcoming addiction, among other areas.

What can you expect from your sessions?

Both in Counselling and Coaching, your initial session will be an in-depth consultation. This will provide me with valuable insights into your unique circumstances, and it will afford you the opportunity to openly discuss your concerns. Often, clients find relief simply in having a safe space to share their thoughts and feelings. During this session, you'll also have the chance to ask any questions you may have, and we'll determine the frequency of follow-up sessions based on your specific needs.

For most clients, a typical plan involves 6 weekly sessions, although, in some cases, 12 sessions may be necessary, depending on the issues that arise. Between each session, you'll be given activities or new skills to acquire. I've discovered that engaging in these activities helps solidify the concepts we work on together during our sessions, providing you with a deeper self-understanding and enhancing the potential for healing.

Your sessions will be thoughtfully curated to provide you with the best possible healing experience. My primary aim is to ensure you feel supported throughout your journey towards well-being.
