September Pisces Full Moon 2024: The First Full Moon of Spring ๐ŸŒ•๐ŸŒธ

image of moon and pisces

The first full moon of springย arrives on 18th September 2024ย in the sign of Pisces. You may already be feeling a calling to your garden or outdoor space, ready to connect with the fresh energy of new growth. This isnโ€™t just any full moonโ€”itโ€™s a Super Full Moon, the most powerful moon of the year, bringing extra intensity and emotional depth to this lunar cycle. As a bonus, weโ€™re also experiencing a partial lunar eclipse, adding layers of transformation and reflection to the energy ๐ŸŒ•๐ŸŒธ.

Pisces invites us to embrace our intuition, dreams, and emotional flow. When I think of Pisces, I canโ€™t help but think of my daughter, who is a Pisces herself. Her love of water, connection to her dreams, and deep intuition often make it seem as though her thoughts are swimming beneath her eyes, just under the surface. This is the kind of energy we are working with during this moon phaseโ€”deep, fluid, and insightful.

Astrological Guidance โœจ

This full moon falls in the sign of Pisces, a deeply intuitive and dreamy water sign, inviting us to tap into our emotions, creativity, and spiritual insights. Piscesโ€™ energy can feel like swimming in the ocean of our subconsciousโ€”fluid, mysterious, and deeply connected to the unseen.

As a Pisces, my daughter embodies this energy so beautifully. When I think of working with this sign, I think of her love of water, her connection to her dreams, and her deep intuition. Often, it seems as though her thoughts are swimming just beneath her eyes, resting right under the surface ๐Ÿ’ง. This full moon calls us to embrace that same energy, trusting our inner world as a guide.

With the sun in grounded Virgo, weโ€™re encouraged to find balance between our practical routines and emotional depths. The Virgo-Pisces axis reminds us that wellness is holisticโ€”mind, body, and spirit are all connected.

Goddess to Work With: Brigid ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐ŸŒฟ

Brigid, surrounded by herbs, and ritual ideas

For this cycle, I suggest working with Brigid, a powerful Celtic goddess of spring, healing, poetry, and fire. Originating from Irish mythology, Brigid is associated with fertility, creativity, and the hearth. She is a bringer of light, symbolizing the awakening of the land after winter. As a goddess of transformation and renewal, she is an ideal guide for the first full moon of spring, helping us ignite the fire of inspiration and nurture the seeds of our goals.

Working with a goddess doesnโ€™t mean you need to be religiousโ€”this is simply a suggestion for deepening your practice. You can choose to work with any inspiring deity or even the essence of an animal ๐Ÿ‡. In spring, many like to work with rabbits as symbols of fertility and renewal. In Pisces energy, you might feel called to connect with water creatures like dolphins or fish ๐Ÿ . Explore what resonates with you!

Ritual Ideas๐ŸŒท๐ŸŒ•

1. Create a Sacred Space for Spring: Set up an altar to Brigid with symbols of renewalโ€”fresh flowers, candles, and perhaps a small bowl of spring water to represent new life. Light a candle in her honor, welcoming her healing and creative energy into your life. Always ensure safety when using candles ๐Ÿ”ฅ.

2. Plant Seeds of Intention: Gather some small packets of seeds and plant them plant them in your garden or small pots, visualize your personal goals blossoming. Whisper your intentions into the earth, asking Brigid to bless them with her nurturing energy. For the temperate climate of the Blue Mountains, I recommend choosing cool-weather seedsย that germinate quickly and align with the theme of renewal:

  • Radishes: These germinate in just a few days and symbolize vitality and readiness.

  • Peas: Perfect for the cool spring air, peas represent growth and prosperity.

  • Spinach: Quick to sprout, spinach brings a sense of freshness and abundance.

  • Nasturtiums: These edible flowers are hardy in cool weather and bring vibrant color and healing energy to your garden.

Plant these in your garden or pots and let their growth inspire your intentions to bloom ๐ŸŒฑ

3. Cleansing and Renewal: Spring is the perfect time for clearing away stagnant energy. Use dried herbs like lavender, rosemary, or mint for smudging, or essential oils in an oil burner to cleanse your space ๐ŸŒ€. This simple act helps you make room for fresh, vibrant energy to flow in.

Offering to Brigid ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ’

Offer a small bouquet of wildflowers or herbs from your garden as a token of gratitude to Brigid. Alternatively, place a piece of bread or a small cup of milk on your altar, honoring her connection to the hearth and abundance.

Springtime Beverage ๐ŸŒผ๐Ÿฅ‚

Celebrate the season with a **Lavender Lemonade**, a springtime drink infused with calming lavender and cleansing lemonโ€”perfect for aligning with this full moonโ€™s energy. I like to use a beautiful glass and place it on my altar as an offering. Make it the day before the full moon and leave it outside under the moon's glow to be charged before drinking ๐ŸŒ•โœจ.

Recipe:

- 1 tablespoon dried lavender

- 1 cup fresh lemon juice (about 4-6 lemons)

- 1/2 cup honey or maple syrup (adjust to taste)

- 4 cups water

Steep the lavender in boiling water for 5-10 minutes, then strain. Mix the lavender water with lemon juice, sweetener, and cold water. Enjoy as a refreshing drink under the moonlight, inviting Brigidโ€™s healing energy into your body and spirit.

Journaling Prompts ๐Ÿ““โœจ

1. Where in my life am I ready to plant new seeds of intention?

2. How can I balance my need for both emotional depth and practical routine?

3. If Brigid is new to me, can I think of a person I know who has similar qualities? Close your eyes and think of their energy. How can I bring some of that energy into my own life?

This September full moon is a time for renewal, creativity, and healing. May Brigidโ€™s energy guide you as you step into this new season with an open heart and a vibrant spirit. ๐ŸŒธโœจ

Blessed be

Angela
